Holiday Stress

It’s hard to not feel stress at this time of year…finances, traffic, colds and flus, Christmas gifts, holiday foods…everything seems to hit us at once! The problem is that stress causes your immune system to function poorly and that leads to getting sick and healing poorly.

My best suggestion to keep yourself healthy for the holidays?  Get adjusted more often! I know what your thinking; how does keeping my spine in better alignment help with mental stress? or eating too many sweets? It’s all related to the nervous system.

First off, remember that stress comes in three forms; mental (money, relationships, job), chemical (eating junk food, chemicals in the water and air), and physical (sitting poorly, bad posture, traumas, bad joints). All of these create stress on your body. But the question is…what is stress? Turns out stress is really a change in your nervous system that leads to a change in your hormones. Specifically, all types of stress (physical, mental or chemical) increase the stress hormone, cortisol.

Here’s the cool part! Getting adjusted helps to increase the nervous system function which ultimately decreases cortisol levels!  There are more joint and movement receptors in the spine than anywhere else in the body, so keeping your spine moving and functioning well is essential to your nervous system function. This explanation is what many researchers are using to explain why people who get adjusted regularly tend to get sick far less often. Simply put, they have less stress on their body, their nervous system functions better and that keeps their immune system stronger!

Take your Vitamin D!

There are some interesting new studies that have opened new questions about vitamin D and the role it has on your immune system. One study from Sweden gives the opinion that a lack of vitamin D is the reason that people get the flu more often in the wintertime as opposed to the summertime (there is less sunlight and thus you produce far less vitamin D)! Although there are still questions that need to be answered, one thing seems to be clear…almost 97% of American are low in vitamin D3 in the wintertime.

If you are one of the people (and there are a lot of you!) who believes everything the government says then my advice to you is DON’T supplement with vitamin D …hopefully that will work out for you. (You may also want to go out and fill you body up with drugs and vaccines as the government says those things are essential for good health!?!?)

If you are one of the people who questions the ‘wisdom’ of the government (or who sees all the collusion and hypocrisy that goes on) then you would know that supplementing with vitamin D3 is safe, cheap and effective. Getting your vitamin D3 levels back up to normal levels not only helps keep your bones healthy, it keeps your immune system in good shape and can even help with your skin and your mental health!

The amount of vitamin D to supplement remains a topic of debate amongst researchers. The government raised the level of recommendation from 280IU’s to 450IU’s last year, but those levels are grossly inadequate. (Pretty much everyone agrees there – except for the government panel who made that recommendation!) Most doctors and scientists recommend 2000-5000IU’s of vitamin D3 per day. From my experience 5000IU’s is the minimal dosage to bring low blood levels of vitamin D up to normal levels. I commonly recommend 5000-10000IU’s for my adult patients, or they can get 15-30 minutes of direct sunlight on 50% of their body.  Beach vacation anyone?

The Laws of Vaccination

In California we have had a lot of news lately regarding the outbreak of whooping cough.  It was even passed that all jr. high school children must get a whooping cough vaccine before they can attend school.  The reality is that these shots (and all vaccines) are NOT mandatory. In California, we have a choice. We have freedom! But the laws are not like that in every state!

There are three ways to opt out of getting vaccines. The first way is to have a medical excemption. This is very difficult to get as most doctors are hesitant to write and excemption. Why? Because if that person was to get the disease (which is extremely rare) the doctor fears a lawsuit.

 The second way to opt out of shots is to have a religious excemption. There are 48 states that allow these excemptions. (What?!?! only 48!! What happened to religious freedom?) In this excemption you do not have to prove your faith or show documentation – you just need to state it. The constitution states that you have the right to have spiritual or religious beliefs. This may be our most important freedom and this is what the AMA and several medical organizations want to take away from us!

The last way to opt out of shots is to have a personal, philosophical or ethical opposition to the vaccines. This is available in only 18 states, with California being one of them.  This allows the parent or person to refuse the vaccines based on their own personal beliefs.

Whats’s the future hold? Will we be free to make our own healthcare decisions? I hope so! I would move out of America in a heartbeat if that were to change! The bottom line…children (and adults) who live naturally and do NOT get vaccinated have been shown to be much healthier than those who do. It is our freedom and our right to live healthy (if we choose) and not to be forced to live sick and unhealthy. Hopefully, the fight will continue and America will stay free!

Vaccines Cause Brain Damage!

I’ve been speaking, writing and showing people that vaccines are a lot less effective than we are led to believe and even worse, they cause neurologic damage (brain damage). I get so frustrated when doctors and medical professionals speak out about how safe and effective the shots are…they clearly have not looked at the available research and statistics! I urge everyone, especially every parent, to do their own research; read the books, study the research, ask a chiropractor! The truth is out there for those brave enough to discover it!

Now we have more good news! A new documentary is sheding light on the subject. Believe me this is not easy to do…anyone who opposes big pharma is likely to be crucified in the media and in the medical profession, but finally someone has produced a documentary. Toxicity may be your weight loss problem!

I’ve helped many people lose weight and it’s different every time. I see all sorts of issues that have to be solved in order for that person to lose weight; things like addiction to sugar, lack of motivation, exercising the wrong way, spinal subluxation causing pain and dysfunction, diet foods…this list is almost endless! But I start almost every program off by addressing one main issue that pretty much every person suffers with: Toxicity.

Toxins get into our body from everywhere; the air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we bathe in, the creams and perfumes we use, the chemicals in our cleaning products…all can potentially toxify your body. When we have a lot of toxins in our cells and intra-celluar space it gets in the way of our normal metabolic functions. In other words, we don’t function well becasue we are filled with poisons! This also gets in the way of losing weight.

Think of it like this; If you are 150 pounds and you are currently at a specific toxic concentration (lets say 10%, just for demonstation), your body would function at that toxicity level. Now if you lost 30 pounds, so your weight was 120 lbs, but you retained the same level of toxins in your body, you would now be functioning at a higher level of toxicity (say 15% toxicity). Since your body now realizes that it is more toxic than before (when you were 150 lbs) it naturally tries to return you to that less toxic state. This is the reason why so many people have trouble keeping the weight off – they are too toxic!

The solution: Start with a cellular cleanse! We generally do either a 30 or 60 day cleanse to start a weight loss program so that you are less toxic to begin with! Here’s the even better part! Many times doing a cleanse will allow that person to lose weight without changing their diet or exercise program! Taking the toxins out of your body allows you body to shed weight on it’s own without moving to a higher toxicity level! Want to lose weight permanently? Start with a cleanse and make sure you cleanse at least once per year!

Land of the Free?!?

We live in a free country, where we are free to do and think what we want without prosecution…right?

Not always in the world of healthcare. I’m constantly amazed at how the medical world is taking away peoples freedoms. For example; if you have cancer and you go to a oncologist (cancer doctor) that doctors is NOT allowed to talk to you about alternative treatments! If you ask him/her about alternatives they will answer “I can’t comment about that”. Is that freedom? These doctors are told that if they discuss alternative care they can lose their license and even go to jail!! Just for talking!! They are specifically mandated to discuss only four options for treatment; Chemotherapy, radiation, surgery or take no action…that’s it. Don’t ask about vitamin infusions, accupunture, chiropractic, Gerson therapy, coffee enemas…they simply won’t be able to answer (if they knew anything about those topics at all!!)

Another attack on our freedom is mandating vaccines. They are trying to force everyone to get their shots…even though the model for mass vaccination has never been proven in human populations and even worse, has been proven to be wrong! Populations with 100% vaccination rates still have outbreaks of the diseases to which they were vaccinated!  Take the midwest a few years ago; they had an outbreak of measles (around 5000 cases) any yet the CDC reported that 99% of those who got sick had been vaccinated! A logical person would say that the vaccines didn’t work…but that wasn’t the conclusion of the CDC; they concluded that it was the fault of the unvaccinated people. (the 1%!?!) The truth is that if a person really looks at the data (studies and stats) I believe they will come to the same conclusion as I did many years ago…vaccines don’t work (very well) and there are serious complications so I choose not to get vaccinated and not to have my children vaccinated. Luckily, I am free to make that educated decision…for now. There are large, extremely well funded and well conected powers (big pharma, CDC, FDA, AMA etc.) that want to take that freedom away. Hopefully they never will.

Spinal Movement is Life!

I teach all my patients to move their entire spine through its full range of motion at least twice per day. It’s incredibly simple and the results of adopting a spinal movement program are fantastic! Movement allows for blood flow and helps to break up the fibers that stop the normal movement from occuring.

So here’s how you do it: First pick a time that you can develop a habit of movement. Maybe it’s right before bed, or just as you get up; maybe its while brushing your teeth or even at your desk at work. Try and do the movments at the same time every day. Now your ready to move! Movement of the spine is done in 6 directions: Forward, backward, lean to the left, lean to the right and turn left and right. 

Start with just the neck: Roll it forward (keeping your shoulder still); next roll it backward. Note: This is not stretching – it is movment. Move slowly until you get to the end range and move it slowly back to neutral. Now lean you head and neck left – then right. Now turn to the left and right. Great! You’ve now moved your cervical spine through its full range of motion. You can do it once or several times – its up to you!

Now move the mid back. Roll your shoulder forward, then back (like the angy cat stretch); Now lean your shoulders left, then right. Lastly turn your shoulder to the left and right without moving your pelvis. Easy!

Last move the lumbar spine. Bend your knees slightly and roll forward as if to tough your toes. Now, with hands on your hips lean back. Next, lean to the left side, then right side. Last, turn your plevis to the left and to the right. You’ve now moved your entire spine through its full range of motion. Feel the energy yet? 

Vaccination is NOT Immunization

The world of medicine is so linked with the world of finance that it is often impossible to tell them apart. Thats the reality when it comes to vaccinations.Here the truth: vaccination is NOT immunization. Look up the definitions. Vaccination mean giving a dead or a piece of a dead germ and forcing the body to react to it,creating antibodies which would hopefully provide some protection against the real germ. Immunization is the process that a health body goes through when it is exposed to a germ, creating antibodies which are perfectly adapted to react to that specific germ, which give that individual lifetime immunity to that specific strain.Just because someone gets a vaccine does NOT mean that have immunity to that germ. Look at the many studies and statistics; most of the outbreaks that occur involve vaccinated individuals! In short, vaccines don’t work very well!Immunity to disease occurs after an individual is exposed to the microbe and overcomes that infection. Like when a healthy child gets the measles, they are sick for a few days and then they get well, and they have now got immune cells that will remember the measles virus for the rest of their lives. They also have a stronger, more resilient immune system as a result of that infection. Compare that to a child who get the MMR vaccine, who develops immune cells not to the measles virus but to the MMR vaccine. These immune cells rarely fit off the measles virus and thus no real immunity was conferred. Additionally, the shot, even if it did work, only lasts for 5-7 years maximum. There are measles outbreaks in the us and the world every year and they occur in highly vaccinated population – in some cases 100%!As most of you know, I don’t believe in vaccinating children or adults. There are too many side effects, many of which are impossible to document since they may cause adverse effects decades later. And, there are too few benefits…it fact I believe there are little or no benefits from mass vaccination. I’ll talk about that in a future blog.Don’t worry, in all fifty states you can opt out of vaccinations for yourself and your family. There is virtually no schools or institutions that can ban you or your kids. You just have to sign an excemption form. It no big deal, and it’s actually a protective mechanism for the schools so people won’t sue if their child gets a disease! Hi!After much pestering by my staff, patients and friends to start blogging I have decided to take the leap into the world of technology and begin writing my thoughts and opinions down.

I’ve been spreading the news and giving the holistic viewpoint for over fifteen years now; on my radio program, Maximized Living Radio, and in the many lectures and workshops that I teach. My goal is simple: I want to make people healthier. Its not a medical viewpoint; medical doctors don’t care about health, or healthy people. MD’s care about sickness and disease. They try (not very successfully) to decrease symptoms of disease. Traditional medicine is not about prevention or curing disease…just look at their track record!

My goal is to empower people and give them the tools to become healthier. Its a holistic approach, which means becoming healthier is to work on the whole body – not just a few parts. My blogs will focus on many aspects of health…Both positive and negative so that with that knowledge you can live a better, healthier life. Seems easy and it really is!So read on and enjoy.
